Some wonderful new pieces of art are now hanging in the bakery! Artist Chuck E. Bloom has a series of evocative pencil and watercolor drawings. You will find yourself drawn into a world of elongated, elevated buildings tenuously supported amidst a wild swirl of an abstract, twilight landscape. April O'Connor, has hung several of her miniature cityscape paintings, which she creates in both watercolor and acrylics. Each shows a town at sunset, its buildings colors layered, with windows that reflect the sun. Please visit the websites of each of the artists to read more about their work, and come see it in person at the Bakery through May.

Macaroon Forest

A forest of scooped macaroon balls, waiting to be baked...

They are such a simple good treat, full of chewiness inside their slightly browned, crusty exterior revealing a soft, full coconut flavor inside.

Did you know they travel well and we do ship them upon request.

September Tomorrow!

If you like Fall, I suppose that is good news, though if you are going back to school soon, facing the end of summer weather and fun, maybe not so much.

Change is always upon us, so with this photo, we bid farewell to the growing days of late summer. A beautiful pitcher filled with gigantic, luscious basil and fragrant rosemary grown by Lacey. Look for it to be a part of this week's bakery offerings, perhaps in the Potato Rosemary bread or as topping on Houlton Deep Dish pizza.
